ONE COMES FROM a farm in Central Illinois, the other from Shibuya, Tokyo.

Kevin and Matthew now live in the San Francisco Bay Area with Chippy the black cat.  In addition to their innumerable indoor and outdoor plants, they’ve always found that it is extremely important to live near a large body of water, and around the corner from a good sushi restaurant.

Never at a loss for inspiration as long as there are flowers, Kevin and Matthew are overjoyed by the thriving local community of artists and writers.  Using the internet to reach out beyond California, Kevin and Matthew have been encouraged by a growing online community. 

As Kevin continues to grow as a writer and illustrator, creating and publishing many more books here, Matthew will continue to explore the infinite possibilities of working with flowers.  Both look forward to writing and drawing many more Flower Boy stories, and will continue to collaborate on this particularly meaningful series.
